Paul Johnson

Paul Johnson currently serves as President and CEO of Petrotranz. He is responsible for providing strategic direction and strong leadership for Petrotranz as well as organizational stability and continuity for all their stakeholders and customers in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (“WCSB”).

Paul joined Petrotranz in 2008 as the Director of Client Services. He assumed the role of Vice President in January 2011 and was appointed to President in November 2013. He led Petrotranz through its successful acquisition by the Daily Mail General Trust (“DMGT”) in November 2014 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) in November 2016.

Mr. Johnson brings over 20 years of sales, marketing, technology, business development, client relations and field experience to the organization. Prior to Petrotranz, Paul worked with Zedi Technologies, Kudu Industries, WestJet Airlines and Telus Communications in technological sales, logistical, field and client service roles.

Dallas Smith

Mr. Smith joined Petrotranz in March of 2013 as Director, Technical Solutions. His initial key responsibility was to ensure successful adoption and deployment our newest system; the Petrotranz Data Exchange (PDX). In 2014, Dallas became Vice President, Operations. This brought on a more expanded role requiring his involvement in strategic planning, success of daily operations through customer support, technical integrations and overall infrastructure stability.

Following the successful close of the Daily Mail General Trust’s (“DMGT”) acquisition of Petrotranz, Mr. Smith was further promoted and assumed the role of COO in November 2016. Dallas has been instrumental in driving profitability and efficiency throughout the organization.

Now responsible for all the daily operations in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (“WCSB”), Dallas Smith oversees a diverse and growing team encompassing marketing, customer engagement, business development, product innovation and development, human resources and communications. Mr. Smith is focused on continuing to strengthen the organizations presence across the region while ensuring fiscal responsibility from the top down. Delivering an extremely elevated level of customer experience excellence consistently, is something Mr. Smith is passionate about. “The simple desire to make people happy and leave them with a sense of satisfaction, is one of the most important attributes of a Petrotranz team member,” he says.

Over the last 25 years, Mr. Smith has demonstrated a very strong and proven track record of success. Dallas' drive to always over-deliver on the customers' needs has proven to be a valued asset in his past roles with such organizations as NeoSystems, Zedi Technolgies, and Pengrowth. Dallas also took his own dot-com venture to large scale success in 2001-2003 as co-founder and Vice President of Technology.

Richard Weston

As a co-founder of Petrotranz, Mr. Weston has served as the organizations Chief Financial Officer since its inception in 2007. Mr. Weston is an operational leader with an eye for detail. Responsible for the companies Financial, HR and Legal operations, he has a proven track record of building and improving a company’s business processes, policies and management reporting systems to attain efficient and effective operations and real-time reporting. In addition to his CFO duties, Mr. Weston is the primary representative for fulfilling the obligations for the Crude Oil Logistics Committee (“COLC”) and Industry Technical Committee (“ITC”).

Previously and during the early years of Petrotranz, Mr. Weston contracted himself out as a “CFO for Hire” for start up companies, assisting them with building their Admin, Finance, HR and Legal processes to a point where either a full time CFO was required or a successful exit was achieved. He has been involved in taking 5 companies to successful exits as well as taking another 5 companies to a point where a full time CFO was required.

Jason Turner

Jason Turner joined Petrotranz in July of 2012 as the Vice President, Research & Development. This was not Jason’s first exposure to the Petrotranz platform and organisation as he had previously served as the lead architect on the Petrotranz Crude Oil Transportation System (“COTS”) since inception in 2007. In his current role as Petrotranz’s Chief Technical Officer, Jason is responsible for all the process driven research aspects of platform development, the IS requirements and maintenance of Petrotranz’s industry solutions.

As a senior software developer with Pandell Technology from 2005 to 2012 Jason was part of many large web based software application projects. Jason gained previous oil and gas industry experience as a data analyst/programmer with Nexen Inc. from 2002 to 2005 and through his work with Acanthus Resources Ltd. in 2001. In 2003 Jason received a Bachelor of Management degree with Honours in Information Systems from the University of Lethbridge.

In his free time Jason enjoys spending time with his two children, staying active golfing, running, biking, and skiing. In the winter Jason is an avid hockey fan who enjoys helping coach his son’s hockey team, playing himself, and watching his favorite amateur and professional hockey teams.

Alex Gierus

Mr. Gierus joined Petrotranz in 2015 to lead the expansion of the company's offerings into metrics, analytics, and decision and support tools. He currently leads the Product Innovation, Deployment, and Testing teams; managing product vision, roadmap, execution, and product-related process improvement for our growing company.

Most recently, Mr. Gierus was the Executive Director of the Petroleum Marketing and Valuation functions of the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission (APMC), managing nearly $2.5 billion in annual crown royalty collection and disposition and leading important industry initiatives on behalf of the Government of Alberta. Still with the public service prior to the APMC, Mr. Gierus led Alberta Energy's Oil Sands Economics and Markets policy group. Prior to his energy career, Mr. Gierus was senior finance manager for ten years at CN Rail, North America's top performing railroad. At CN he managed a wide range of multi-billion dollar portfolios, using data science, technology, and process improvement to generate tens of millions of dollars in value. Prior to this, Mr. Gierus had a career in information technology with several Calgary-based start-ups. Mr. Gierus sits on the boards of Intriga Mobility and the Calgary Youth Science Fair Society.

Mr. Gierus has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration.

Lindsey Boguski

Lindsey has spent the past 14 years in various marketing related capacities within the Canadian Oil and Gas Sector. Leveraging both her Business Diploma from SAIT and her Bachelor's in Management from the University of Lethbridge, Lindsey has worked for some well-recognized organisations ranging from NetThruPut Inc., Seminole Canada Energy, ARC Resources to Harvest Operations. During her tenure with these organisations, she has developed a very wide-ranging grasp including: Accounting, Analytics, Logistics and Marketing for Crude Oil and NGL production.

In early 2012 Lindsey took on a new and exciting career move by accepting the role of Director, Industry Solutions with Petrotranz Inc. In this new capacity, Lindsey was a strong voice of guidance and experience to the marketing sector, working to facilitate standardization and efficiency wherever possible. Since this time, she has advanced to take on the full responsibility for our customers experience. This includes the Customer Experience (Support and Training team), Customer Engagement team and the Business Development Team.

Amanda Gentile

Taking on a new career challenge, Amanda joined the Petrotranz Team in 2017 as the Director, Business Development. Her most recent position held within the Calgary Energy sector was that of Senior Crude Oil Marketing Representative with Pengrowth Energy Inc. Ms. Gentiles 7.5 years of producer commercial marketing experience with Pengrowth, along with her 15 plus years within the oil & gas industry at large, are being parlayed into the newly structured Business Development team at Petrotranz. She has broad experience in energy marketing & risk management.

During her career in Calgary, Amanda has worked for some well-recognized organisations ranging from Cargill, Enbridge Inc., Provident Energy and Pengrowth Energy Inc. During her time with these organisations, she has developed a very wide-ranging skill set which includes: Risk Control, Analytics, Logistics and Marketing for Crude Oil.

Amanda has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Montana.

Scott Wilson

Mr. Wilson joined Petrotranz in 2015 as a Senior Research & Development analyst. Since then, he has moved into the role of Director, Research & Development, continuing to push the Petrotranz platform forward through technical innovation.

Prior to joining the team, Mr. Wilson worked at a technology start-up related to crypto-currencies for two years. Mr. Wilson has further history in the development realm as a Developer with Pandell Technology from 2006 to 2013 where he worked on many different Oil & Gas software solutions including the Petrotranz Crude Oil Transportation System (“COTS”) as a contracted resource. Further to that role, he was responsible for working on various software solutions, from data conversions to accounting applications.

Mr. Wilson graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelors of Management and a degree in Information Systems in 2004.
